Merewood is big enough to feel grand but still small enough to be intimate and relaxed too. The atmosphere is informal, welcoming and really quite special.

We know that every couple will have a different vision for their special day.  So whether you prefer to give your imagination free reign or are looking for creative inspiration, our experienced wedding planners are on hand every step of the way to help make that dream come true.

There is no formula and no set package. Each wedding is as unique as the setting itself. Whether you want to get married at church and join us for your celebrations afterwards or would like to tie the knot in the elegant surroundings of Merewood, we can accommodate your every need.

Need help with those little extras? We understand how difficult arranging all the different elements of your special day can be. Over the years we have established close links with many local wedding specialists from photographers and florists to harpists and live bands. Food & Drink

It's in the way ingredients are selected, prepared and combined. The way recipes are tried, refined then tried again. Our highly experienced chefs are on hand to talk through your ideas and provide mouth-watering inspiration as you plan the menu for your big day.

Using only the best seasonal and locally sourced ingredients our  wedding breakfast menus give you a taste of just some of the dishes on offer – from simple classics to contemporary combinations.

No day would be complete without a celebratory tipple – whether it’s a glass of Pimms on arrival, a flute of champagne to toast the happy couple or a glass of the finest malt whisky as the night winds down. We also have an impressive wine list to complement your wedding breakfast.

As the evening celebrations get underway, why not treat your guests to a ‘midnight snack’ of fine cheeses and Port, or for something a little out of the ordinary - mini fish and chips!

Your Wedding Cake

With many years’ experience baking and decorating beautiful wedding cakes our very own cake designer will work with you to produce a unique creation as individual as your wedding day itself.

Your Wedding Ceremony

Our civil ceremony license means you can enjoy the entire day without leaving the comfort of your surroundings.

Merewood has a number of stylish rooms available for civil wedding ceremonies.

Booking Fees

Charges

£1,000.00 for your civil wedding and £500.00 exclusivity charge.

Discounted rates for wedding guests

We are pleased to offer wedding guests the following discounts off our normal tariff rates:

• £5.00 per person per night off the tariff price on a one-night stay.
• £10.00 per person per night off the tariff price on a two-night stay.
• £15.00 per person per night off the tariff price on a three-night stay.
• Children sharing with parents @ £30.00 per night bed and breakfast (age 2-12 years old).
• Cots for children up to two years old are free of charge.

Rooms requested and not filled will be charged for.

Terms & Conditions

Confirmation

All bookings must be confirmed in writing at time of booking with a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of £1,000.00.

Cancellation

We strongly recommend that you take out private wedding insurance to ensure that you meet our cancellation terms in the unlikely event that you need to cancel or transfer your booking.

In the event of cancellation:
20-28 weeks - 25% of the estimated bill.
9-20 weeks - 50% of the estimated bill.
8 weeks or less - 100% of the estimated bill

Final details

All arrangements are to be finalised 21 days prior to the wedding date. We are unable to cater for less than the number of guests confirmed. The balance of the account is to be settled one calendar month after the wedding day.

Check-in/out

Check in is available from 2.00pm. Check out is 11.00am

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted within the hotels and will incur a £100 fine.

Alcohol

Guests are not permitted to consume alcohol on the premises not supplied by the hotel.

Damage to hotel property

The hotel reserves the right to charge full room tariff should the room be unsuitable to re-sell. Any damages to the rooms will be charged for.

Fireworks

For environmental and heath and safety reasons our hotels are not permitted to hold firework displays.
