Elopements, Small & Micro Weddings in the Lake District

My husband and I had the best day at our small, intimate “Just Us” wedding, with 10 guests. We wanted something small and no fuss, to feel like we were “getting married on holiday”. Merewood really delivered this for us (and more), the Bridal Suite is stunning, the grounds and views really are something out of a storybook, and the hotel itself is a beautiful building. Our wedding day went so smoothly and was completely stress-free, which was made possible with the help of the wedding team’s helpful guidance. The Afternoon Tea and dinner options were incredible, everyone commented on how delicious the food was, and all staff were so friendly and accommodating all throughout our two night stay.

We had our elopement at Merewood hotel and it was honestly the best day of our lives. The staff were so helpful and really are such a credit to the Merewood experience. The food was outstanding catering to our needs but also our fussy children, the day ran so smoothly only problem was we had so much fun the time flew by too fast — we can’t wait to come back on our anniversary. Merewood will always have a special place in our hearts now, we will never forget the memories we have made there. A massive thank you so the wedding team and staff for an amazing time!

We had a Just Us Elopement Wedding at Cragwood. The day couldn’t have gone any better, the sun was shining throughout the day. The wedding team were a massive help in making the day stress-free. Coming to check on us while getting ready, helping getting into our dresses and setting up that first look moment. The food was to die for, spoilt for choice! The afternoon tea was really cute and a great experience. The room was the nicest we have stayed in, the bed was super comfortable. All staff were lovely and welcoming. Thank you to the team at Cragwood, would highly recommend.

From the initial contact with the wedding team at Cragwood, our wedding organisation was seamless. We chose the ‘Just Us’ package and it was everything we could have hoped for (and more!) for our intimate wedding. They provide witnesses as well. We felt so relaxed and all our nerves disappeared on the day and everything was perfect. The food was exceptional and the setting was stunning….the bridal suite is gorgeous with views of the lake and the grounds breathtaking. This is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding and you can even bring your dog or extra guests if you wish. Memories we will treasure forever.

We opted for the Just Us package at Briery Wood and had a few close family members present with us and our puppy. We were lucky that we got to do our wedding ceremony outside, the grounds were immaculate with beautiful flowers and a perfectly kept lawn. We had a beautiful ceremony and the staff were extremely helpful and supportive throughout our stay ― if you want a small package wedding then I would really recommend Briery Wood because it was perfect for us. We didn’t have to think about a lot of things that people have to consider when they are planning their own event because the very experienced team took care of all of those things for us.
