Treat yourself and your loved ones to a magical Christmas in the Lake District. From roaring log fires and exceptional hospitality to festive feasts and breathtaking views, everything you need for an unforgettable festive escape is waiting for you.

At Merewood, every detail has been thoughtfully prepared — from warming mulled wine and gourmet dining to elegant interiors, stunning scenery and, of course, a special visit from the man in red. All that’s left is for you to relax and enjoy the magic of Christmas.

Our three-night Christmas package (Thursday 24th December – Sunday 27th December 2026) is just £839 per person for a Classic Room or £889 per person for a Lake View Room*, including breakfast each morning.

*Price is per person based upon two guests sharing a room. A supplement of £500 applies for single occupancy.

Christmas Eve

Arrive from 3pm and settle into one of our elegant bedrooms before heading downstairs to relax in our cosy lounges. Enjoy a freshly brewed tea or coffee served with homemade scones as your Christmas break begins.

At 6.30pm, join us for a Prosecco drinks reception, followed by a delicious two-course buffet dinner from 7pm.

Round off the evening with live entertainment from Fiona Hanlon: Music in the Lakes, from 9pm.

Christmas Day

Your festive break continues with a leisurely continental breakfast served between 8:30am and 9:30am. Then spend a relaxed morning with your loved ones unwrapping presents.

At 1pm, join us for a glass of Prosecco before sitting down to a traditional four-course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, served from 1.30pm.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy, with festive games in our lounges providing the perfect opportunity to relax and join in the fun.

At 8pm, enjoy a festive buffet, followed by a Christmas quiz in our Conservatory Bar.

Boxing Day

Start the day with a leisurely à la carte breakfast, served between 8am and 10am, before enjoying a relaxed morning at your own pace.

At 1pm, take to the water for a scenic cruise on Lake Windermere, accompanied by a delicious soup and sandwich lunch served on board.

On your return to Merewood, warm up with a glass of spiced mulled wine and a slice of homemade cake in our cosy lounges.

From 4pm, enjoy live afternoon entertainment from Fred Binley Piano.

Round off the day with a delicious carvery dinner, served from 7.30pm, followed by Christmas bingo in our Conservatory Bar.

Sunday 27th December

Enjoy a leisurely à la carte breakfast served between 8am and 10am before check out at 11am.

From then all that remains is for us to wish you a safe journey and hope to see you next year!
